A touch of Portguese flavour
For this holiday home, the owners – a stylish retired couple – wanted to retain local Goanese and traditional Portuguese accents while designing the interiors of this gorgeous apartment. The design was conceived keeping this in mind, especially the traditional use of wood and rattan furniture in Goa.
The star of the show is the patterned tile floor that is instantly reminiscent of a bygone era. The living room is left spacious and airy, as the owners like to open the large balcony doors during the day, to let the sea breeze and sunlight in.
For the bedrooms, we opted for vibrant textiles and simple, functional shapes as these are usually used by their family and friends who arrive as guests. We also added bespoke decoration elements such as an oil painting of vineyards done specially for this apartment.
