What’s it about?
It’s mostly about a headstrong, tomboyish girl growing up in middle-class India in the 1980s who refuses to kowtow to social mores and dictats of the times. As she grows up to become a sports journalist in a highly male-dominated environment, life has many adventures in store for her. As you can probably tell by now, yes, this one was a bit of a memoir.
Launched at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2010, the book quickly made it to the prestigious Hindu Bestseller list. I sometimes still flip through it when I feel like bringing a nostalgic smile to my lips. Honestly, I can read it again and again.
